Summary

RondaTimer does not collect or share any personal data. The app has no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no user accounts.

The app makes one kind of network request, and only while a Live Activity is running: it sends the schedule of the current session to its own push server, which delivers each update to your Lock Screen through Apple's push notification service so the countdown keeps up with your rounds. This is described in Live Activity updates below.

What the app stores

Everything RondaTimer saves stays on your device and in your own iCloud backups, if you have those enabled. None of it is sent to the developer or to any third party; the only data that leaves your devices is the session schedule described under Live Activity updates.

  • Timer settings and routines — durations, step names, icons, sound choices and related preferences, stored in the app's local storage.
  • Session history — for each finished session, the routine's name, when it finished, how long it ran and how many steps it completed, used for your history and day streak.
  • Custom sounds — audio files you choose to import are copied into the app's private storage so they remain available offline. They are never uploaded.
  • Purchase status — whether RondaTimer Pro has been unlocked. The app and its widgets share this through a private app group on your device; the Apple Watch app asks Apple directly whether the purchase is active on your Apple ID.

Deleting the app removes all of this data from your device.

Purchases

RondaTimer Pro is a one-time in-app purchase processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles the transaction and any payment details; the developer never sees or receives your payment information. The app only asks Apple whether the purchase is active on your Apple ID.

Apple's handling of purchase data is described in Apple's privacy policy.

Apple Watch and widgets

The iPhone app sends your routines and the state of the running timer to the Apple Watch app, and the Live Activity and widgets read timer state, routines and purchase status from the iPhone app. This communication is handled by Apple's frameworks and stays within your own devices.

Live Activity updates

While a session is running, iOS will not let the app update its own Live Activity — the app is kept awake to play your cues, and that is not a reason iOS accepts for refreshing the Lock Screen. So the timing is handed to a push server instead, which sends each step change at the moment it is due.

When you start a session with the Live Activity enabled, the app sends:

  • An Apple push token for that Live Activity — issued by Apple, tied to that one activity, and invalid once the session ends.
  • The session schedule — the routine's name; the name, icon and duration of each step; when each step ends and whether a warning is due before it does; for steps in a repeat group, the group's name and which repeat it is; and which step is running out of how many.

Routine, step and group names are the ones you typed, so avoid putting anything private in them if you would rather it never left the device. Nothing else is sent: no account, no device identifier, no location, no contact details, and nothing that identifies you.

The data is used only to deliver that session's updates and is discarded when the session ends or is cancelled. It is not sold, shared, or used for analytics, advertising or profiling. The server is operated by the developer, not by a third-party service.

The server delivers each update through the Apple Push Notification service, so the content of the Lock Screen card — the same names and times — passes through Apple on its way to your device, as every push notification does. Apple's handling of it is described in Apple's privacy policy.

Turning Live Activities off for RondaTimer in the iOS Settings app stops these requests entirely; the timer, sounds and Watch app keep working without them.

Children

RondaTimer is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages. It does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Third-party services

RondaTimer contains no third-party SDKs, analytics libraries, advertising networks, or crash reporting services.

Some bundled sound effects are licensed from third-party libraries for use inside the app. These are audio files only; they collect no data and involve no network connection.
